Judean Desert Trek 2008 in celebration of Israel's 60th Anniversary |
| |
|
Between 8th - 16th November, we will walk 100km from Yad Mordechai to Massada - beginning with a visit to one of the projects that you will be supporting and ending with a relaxing weekend at the Dead Sea. Over six days you will experience another life - the simple and uncomplicated life of the desert, without normal creature comforts. You will see breathtaking sights and walk through beautiful terrain normally inaccessible to tourists, accompanied by camels carrying the luggage and supplies.

What you will get in return will be one of the most enthralling, challenging and satisfying experiences of your life. You will also be helping to maintain the many after-school programmes which give so many abused and deprived children opportunities they would not normally experience.
Why should you join us? Watch this video clip from last year's trek to find out!

The One to One Project (charity no. 801096) was originally set up to help disadvantaged immigrant families in Israel.
One to One provides vital support to children and families in need, who have fallen through the net of Government financial assistance in Israel.
Over the years, as well as financial aid to alleviate poverty, we provide medicines, equipment and treatment for the sick and disabled. We also fund specialist counselling for children and families who have been traumatised by war and domestic violence, and supply vital educational materials and equipment.
Keeping children safe and off the streets is an integral part of the work of the charity. One to One have set up safe havens, taking children off the streets away from prostitution and drug abuse. As these needs have increased, One to One are opening more centres and cycling clubs to give the children much needed after-school activities.
Our work has also expanded, helping children all over the world, through the One to One Children's Fund, which began life under the One to One umbrella but achieved its own independent charitable status (charity no. 1086159) in 2001, Click here to enter the One to One Children's Fund web site http://www.one2onekids.org
The One to One team are continually looking for new ways to raise money. Our sponsored treks are one exciting and challenging way of helping others. We take our adventurers up mountains and across deserts, expanding their horizons and opening their eyes to the needs of children wherever we go.
